• Security Officers (2 positions)

Summary:
This is an entry-level position where the incumbent receives formal and on-the-job training in security procedures and duties and procedures relating to the protection, safeguarding, and security of San Felipe Casino’s assets, personnel, customers, and visitors. Must possess a class III Gaming License. Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required.

All San Felipe Casino employees must be able to develop a clear understanding of customers’ needs and goals while maintaining clear communication with customer regarding meeting their expectations. He/she must follow though and respond to customers’ requests and inform them of action taken in a courteous, professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Observe casino or casino hotel operations for irregular activities such as cheating or theft by employees or patrons, using visual observation, audio/video equipment, and one-way mirrors.
  • Report violations to supervisor immediately.
  • Be attentive and aware of your surroundings at all times.
  • Promptly answer all calls.
  • Utilize polite, respectful and professional communication at all time with team members and customers.
  • Report all violations and suspicious behaviors to supervisors, verbally, or in writing.
  • Provide oversight and security for large currency transportation.
  • Patrol allocated areas as directed.
  • Work as a team with other security officers, staff, and departments.
  • Maintain logs and/or records of activity during the scheduled shifts.
  • Provide assistance and/or information to Casino guests and others when necessary.
  • Enforce San Felipe Casino employee badge procedures.
  • Maintain professional hygiene and appearance in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete required training as directed by the Supervisor or the Human Resources Department.
  • Must perform all duties in compliance with the casino’s safety policies and procedures.
  • All San Felipe Casino employees must be competent in working effectively with department members and members of other departments to resolve common issues or problems as well as listening and seeking others’ perspective on how to complete assignments.
  • Keeps others informed and up-to-date about tasks, progress, or projects.
  • Contributes to a team-oriented, continuous improvement, quality process.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license.

 

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required AND 6 months experience in law enforcement, security, or surveillance preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
